Are there any cities/counties agencies still in good shape?

Things are looking grim here in Cali. Rumor has it we're about to let a few of our boys go. Are there any states that are doing fine economically? There might be a mass exodus of Cali cops pretty soon.

We're hiring, but no COLA raises, overtime, training budget, etc... all cut.

We just closed our intake. No hiring for a while.

I hear LAPD was hiring but just stopped. Burbank PD just finished testing, I hear.

Everyone in our department just got 4% across the board raise. Not bad in a tough economy.

Our Dept is hiring, but all raises are frozen. Training is pretty much at the bare minimum. Haven't shot duty ammo for qual in over 2 years.

No step increase or cost of living increase last year or this year. Salary is now 16% below what it should be...
