Are the Gen 4's still working the bugs out?

    Hi,

Sorry if this has been mentioned before but I have been set on the G26 Gen 4. I just got off the phone with a dealer/range in the area and the guy said he still doesn't trust the Gen 4's yet. Is this still the issue? I looked on line a little and seems there still may be a spring issue. What is everyones thought on this? Also is there much difference in size of the third gen opposed to the 4th with the small backstrap. I just really liked the feel of the Gen 4 and the way it shot. So any comparison between the 3rd and 4th is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Doug

Most of the problems I see posted here are with the compacts and full sizes. I don't see many issues being posted about the subcompacts. That being said, I have both the Gen4 26 and 19 and they run like typewriters on WWB and Fed Champ (crap ammo).

Sub compacts seem fine, they always had the dual spring RSA to begin with, so the major difference is frame size, texture and a bigger mag release. There really shouldn't be a problem.

There should be no issues with the Gen 4 G26. I've heard nothing but rave reviews for the Gen 4's after they worked out the bugs. The grip is easier to hold for some even though the difference is only 2 mm. And others like the choices of add-on back straps.

I have a gen 3 26 and may be switching over the the gen 4..... LOVE me the 26.

I know the OP is asking about the 9mm Gen4 models, but from all reports I've read at GT and elsewhere the full size Gen4 Glock 21 45ACP with new dual recoil spring was good to go from first release.

All of my Gen4 models have been good out of the box, and I've updated the internals on most of them so far. They're still good.

I've got models in 9X19, .40 S&W, .45 ACP, .45 GAP, and soon .357 SIG which are Gen4. No problems.

Thanks everyone. Once again, huge help! This forum is the best. I'm sticking with the 4th gen.

I have a G26 Gen4, great pistol. Close to 500 rounds down the pipe. No problems at all.

My 26 & 27 gen4s have been flawless. Not many complaining about the subcompacts.

I don't have a sub-compact yet. Does that count as a complaint? Haha

I have 4 recently manufactured Blue Label Gen4s (G17, G19, G26 & G34) that came with the current RSAs and ejectors. All have been good to go (zero failures of any kind) out of the box and each one has almost 1000 rounds (combination of Federal AE 115gr, Federal AE 124gr & Federal Champion 115gr) thru it.

Zero problems with gen4 23. It's a blue label with test date of 2/27/12. Shot mainly WWB out of it.

About 400 rounds a month is all I can afford. Wow, 2600 in 2 months. I'm jealous.

You ought to jump at that opportunity and say, "Then you should sell this particular Gen4 at a deep DISCOUNT. How about $450 ?"

No one sell inferior products at full price. You have to believe that, to converse effectively with him.

If he has trouble saying, "YES" then tell him you'd like to speak to his boss, that may be given the status of "imperfection" as he stated, that his Boss would agree and say, "Yes, $450 is fine."

Say "Yes" or get me your Boss.

Unless you get a rush acting like that... Why not just join GSSF and get your Gen4 for well under $450 ??? :dunno:

Gen 4 G19. Woks fine. The more I read about Gen4 problems, the more I think it is beginner syndrome. No matter what generation of glock you are shooting, it will eventually jam if your not holding it right.
