Looking at a G35 for USPSA / IDPA competition. Have run a custom 1911-based racegun with the magazine release reversed. I'm right handed and use my trigger finger to drop the mag. After doing some research, it looks like the Gen 4 will fit the bill.

Are they available yet? Has anyone used the GSSF program to purchase one?

    Thanks,
    HH

Just 17/22 right now, next is the 19/23.

Don't they use the same frame as the G22? Looks like they would be fairly quickly forthcoming unless GLOCK wants to invest all its resources into the Gen4 G22, G17 only, so they get as many out as possible.

Gen4 frames do not mate up with Gen3 and earlier slides.

Then there's THIS post stating that the poster has verified that they do fit.

    Which is right?

They fit and function, however there is a a gap at the muzzle since the recoil plug area and front of the dustcover differs. So, I believe a 3rd gen upper will work on a 4th gen frame but NOT the other way around.

Same reason why the Advantage Arms kits will work on the 4th gen frames. Theres just a gap between the front of the slide and the dustcover. Still works though.

I think it will be quite some time before a Gen 4 G35 comes to fruition... To my knowledge, they have not released a G35 RTF2..

I use a Gen 4 G17 in USPSA and have considered getting a Gen 4 G22, but that will have to wait until my next GSSF purchase...

Decided that I'd stick with the current version as the mag release will be the same as my carry guns and picked up a G35 today. Better to train and compete the same way. Less chance of error at a critical moment.

I would rather see a RTF2 G35 first..... Gen 4 sucks to me....

My G35 on my G22/17 RTF2 frame is perfection.... But I dont trust the combo to cary it.
