Make sure you have a place to shoot an FA before you buy one....

Most commersial places don't allow it, but some do.

You buy it first and the dealer holds onto it while the transfer paperwork gets approved. The 4200 is called the transfer tax, and the form is an application to transfer the item to a new owner.

I shot a suppressed .45 this weekend, it was magic. I don't know when, but I will get one.

    NO!!!!

They suck and cost too much!!!

The feds will insert a tracker in your body for the rest of your life and perform no-knocks occasionally for the first 25-35 years of your taking ownership of any NFA item.

The wait it entirely too long and ear muffs are cheaper.

I own several suppressors. In fact I even use a suppressor on my Anschutz Air Rifle. If I could make them mandatory I would.

The wait for an individual is 10-12 months and the e-file trust wait is 3.5 months.

This makes me realize I need to make my rifles a little more interesting for suppressed pics. Our new SpecWar needs to be shown in a sexy format.

Worth it? Depends on what you want it for. I run my TBAC 30P-1 when the added length and weight aren't a big disadvantage. The suppressor increases accuracy in positions where the recoil isn't as controlled as for a solid prone position. Plus it doesn't suck to be next to when you're spotting.

As i know virtually nothing about this subject this is interesting, but is there a reputable forum someone can recommend focused strictly on silencers?
