Same thing that's happening with food prices... also holiday shopping will be gearing up soon. That means more people driving. Other than that :dunno:

    Yes.

I heard a Saudi Arabian sheik had to euthanize his favorite camel a couple weeks ago and he is still in mourning.

This raised the price of crude worldwide.

Could have to do with the declining value of the dollar in the past few weeks.

Kind of hard to tell in my area. Gas prices continue to fluxuate so freequently and are up and down to the degree that it is hard, for me at least, to get a feel for the long term trend. But as is mentioned above we seem to be going back and forth within a little higher range that just a couple of weeks ago. I think the long term view would reflect that it is going up.

+1 The first push to add ethenol in fuel back in 2007-2008 helped push up the cost of gas at the pump, which along with a wild futures market gave us $5 a gallon gas.

Also remember there is a backlash with grain prices. It was already a BAD growning season in the US, and around the world. Having an even higher bump in ethenol use will mean another food spike, and another world food crisis. Its simply stupid.
