    Hello Everyone,

A few weeks ago I picked up my first Ar, a Colt LE6920.

Can any of you please recommend a good case I can use to take the rifle to the range? It would only have to carry this rifle.

I have several other rifle cases, but they are not tall enough for the Colt to fit in.

    Thank You,
    Nate

    Thanks for the quick replies!

I think a soft case would work well for me.

Here is a video review I did of mine. I really like this case! It looks like the price has come down since I shot the video.

Some of the "tactical" bags are very bulky. You may not need all the bulk and compartments just to transport to and from the range.

I would suggest getting something like this from Midway in a length that accommodates your rifle in collapsed mode. Very reasonably priced and durable.

It should be tall enough to accommodate a rife with a sizable scope as well as with a magazine inserted.

Bulky monster. He just wants something to throw in the car to transport to and from the range (based on his OP). He's not a SWAT guy wanting to lug all his gear to a hostage scene. :)

this bag fits in the back of a porsche with a roll bar installed.
not a lot of room back there.
you know its a cloth bag that folds on the ends if need be.
and its one of the best bags out there.
tons of space to replace two bags if needed.
and did i mention that it can be folded on the ends as well?

He said "I think a soft case would work well for me.", that's not definite.

Thanks for letting us all know you like to ridicule people while not offering any help regarding the OP's question.

I have both. My soft case is by Drago and my Pelican is a 1750 which is good for 2 AR's but big and bulky. The Drago isn't bulky at all and great for carrying 1 or 2 rifles (with scopes), mags, slings, ear and eye protection and other misc stuff you would want/need at the range. Mine has backpack straps and shoulder straps so it can be carried a few ways. The Midway case is flimsy but good if you just want to cover 1 rifle. As TT said, the Pelican is just too bulky and heavy for range trips.

The soft case is copied by many manufacturers and some are not as good as others. Drago and Condor seemed to be made of better materials. I got the Drago because it was on sale but it looks like the Condor is cheaper by $15 now on Amazon ($60).

Looks like some of you guys need to hit the gym.

PS: the iM3200 comes with wheels.

That being said I don't want my rifles getting dinged up or knocked out of zero in a soft case. Some of them have $2500 scopes attached for instance.

Some of us actually use our rifles and aren't safe queens. And if it gets knocked out of zero, you need to buy better equipment.

    :p

Roughly 40 years of hauling guns around in soft cases for hunting and shooting, and I have never damaged a gun or had a scope knocked out of zero.
