Is there a special tool for adjusting elevation on the front post? Mine is very tight. I remember back in the Army we just used the tip of a round, pushed the retainer down, and turned it. Impossible with my new Rock River.

I had a Bushmaster a few years back, that sight post was stuck.
I placed two drops of CLP on it & let it soak all day. The following day it moved freely.

Use a nail (9 penny, etc) and yes, soak it, it's probably new.

I feel your pain. My RRA was way tight. I broke down and sprung $3 for a sight adjusting tool...can't tell you how many times it's been borrowed...

    Brownell's part # 078-015-001AF for an A1: # 078-015-002AF for an A2. Mine works great.
