AR finish

    What can i use to put on my AR to keep it black ? I've heard of the finish getting dull ?

    I read somewhere, probably here, that good ol' BreakFree CLP is good for that purpose.

    Oil, spray or wipe, use a black towel for rubbing it down.

    Just get a Colt to begin with. The finish starts off dull so you wont be able to tell the difference after you beat it. :rofl:

    Oil is what keeps milspec anodizing looking black. With years of abuse, the anodizing will eventually wear down to the bear aluminum. That's when I feel the gun has real character.
