I'm still waiting for the Mountain Lion update that doesn't make the page hard-refresh when you hit the BACK button. Grrrr.

You download first...analyze...and report back here your findings. :tongueout:

I'm trying to be very vigilant in seeing that the government doesn't slip some sort of tracking device my way with their ever so clever thinking.

They are trying to bridge the gap between tablets and real computers. It'll be interesting.

No doubt about it. That $300 difference between the 16GB and the ~120GB model would pay for 100GB cloud at:

    Cubby for 6 years
    OpenDrive for 3 years
    Mozy for 3 years
    Google for 5 years
    Dropbox for 3 years
Apple for 3 years (for 55GB, no 100GB option)
    Microsoft for 6 years
    Amazon for 3 years

    Very interesting.

A lot of people use tablets for streaming video content obviously, but with limited storage those who want to purchase HD movies, or entire TV seasons, etc. and store them on-board have been a bit stymied. I expect these higher capacity models to bridge that gap and increase sales of downloadable HD video content from the providers. Another revenue stream for them now that local storage will be more viable.

One day a 128 GB tablet will be seen as "smallish" and we will have out 1 TB tablets. Cool with me.

Roger that but cloud is not fast enough/always available in lieu of RAM-like on board storage for office/RAW pic files/auto cad etc. if one is using the iPad instead of a computer.

I'm likely to get one. An iPad mini with mondo storage would be even better.

Not to mention when you're away from wifi- streaming over cellular eats up data.

I just bought a 64GB a little over a month ago darn it.

Can you still not add removable media to even the new iPads? What the hell. I can plug removable media into my phone, I would at least expect to be able to with a tablet.

It loaded fine on my iPad, but my iPhone bombed out and now it's making me hook to iTunes and run Recovery mode and wipe it out and reinstall everything. I guess that's what I get for not syncing before a minor update.

My wife streamed 5.5gb of just music on her phone last month. Luckily we still have unlimited data and they just slowed down her speeds until the end of the month.

Then I downloaded it all to her 64gb micro-sd card and created a symbolic link so it doesnt use the cloud or internal memory.
