I know AOL sucks - but since everyone in my family started using it way back when - all of our E-mail accounts are set up as AOL.com - its such a pain to change over - and AOL is free. (no you get what you pay for comments please)

Anyway when I open mail in my AOL account - the little turning circle comes up telling me my computer is BUSY - and it just stays on FOREVER - I have tried hitting the stop button - but it does nothing - I can "end task" restart AOL and then the mail will open and work fine for a while - then that pesky BUSY circle thing comes back.

Any idea what I can do to fix this?

BTW - this is a new PC running Vista - never had this issue with my 5 year old broken down virus infected PC -

    Suffer.  ;)

You needed to make the break when you changed ISPs.

Stopping the application the way you do is only serving to break it further and making things far worse.

AOL does terrible things to windows!

Ditto on a Vista version of AOL if you insist on keeping it. :puking:

AOL 9.0 VR (Vista Ready) came pre loaded on this PC - when I try to update - AOL says I already have the latest version.

simple answer, quit using AOL software and just connect to your mail through their website. Then spend a couple hours trying to delete AOL software completely of your machine. You won't get it all but you should be able to get most of it.
