We seem to think we'd like to deploy PS in our organization. From what little research I've done the requirements are fairly heavy, but I'd like some advice from anyone who's deployed it.

    Thanks!

I have deployed it internally and it's a bear!!!

Then I got rid of it. I may build another one....

There are opensource solutions also, like dotproject.

I'll see if I can dig up the notes I made to get it working properly.

Thanks, PGC. What I'm looking for is a rough estimate of the cost. I figure I'll need a dedicated server running 2000 or 2003, SQL Server and CALS, and then Project 2003 Server and CALs, plus then Project Pro on the clients.

    'Preciate your advice. ;)

...ahh the costs. I can figure it out real quick. I'm a MS partner so no costs for me.

Dedicated sever, a current proc(3Ghz), As much RAM as you can afford(3-4GIGS) and I would do two mirrors. One for the os and app and the other for the data. I'd go with 300 gigs depending on your office size.

SQL server and cals $5000/1900 a 5 pack
Project server and cals $1200/120 a user
Sharepoint services are required $3331/71 a user
Project pro on the clients $1200

All of these prices are retail and of course vary based on how you buy it. As a package you will get into volume lic and save a chunk of loot.

Once you take a look at the estimate for your size company and want to go a little further let me know and I can probably help you out with a good deal.

    Hope that helps.
