I’m fixing to start carrying my new G45. I tried the Trijicon HD XR which have the thinner front post but it completely covered my 8” target at 25 yards and really threw off my shooting. This gun will also be used in GSSF so I want the ability to shoot close range out to 25 at least. So I swapped them for some of the Tru Glo TFX Pro sights and on top of shortening my sight radius by that ungodly long front sight, I had the same issue. On my G44 and my G34 I use a fiber optic front with a blacked out rear and it’s perfect for all distances for my eyes. Anyone else use that combo for a carry gun? I don’t like not having night sights but I guess that’s what a flashlight is for lol

I use Dawson blacked out rear and fiber optic front on all my Glocks, including my G43 carry. Currently they are all red fiber optic but I much prefer the green that I have on other guns and am planning to swap the Glocks to green.

The tomahawk thread was above this one and all I saw for some reason was “does anyone use fiber optic tomahawks on a carry gun” lol!!! But to answer your question yes, I had truglow fiber optic sights with tritium, and they were awesome!!

Truglo is on every handgun I have. I’ve always loved them. Never regretted it on the range, indoor or outdoor. Night or day.

I use Warren Tactical “carry” sights for carry. I use either Warren or Dawson on range guns. Both plain, Black rear with FO front. I’m carrying a P365xl now and I wish it had Warren “carry” sights.

    +1 for TruGlo TFX sights.

The best sight picture available in any light condition outside of a red dot.

Fiber optic fronts on all my serious guns. Really helps my old eyes.

We had fiberoptic/night sites on my duty gun for around 8 years and they were ok. We did have a few of the departments break, but the large majority held up fine and were plenty accurate to shoot with.

    Been there! Done...
Same thing but G19X here, I installed the Taran Fiber sights for Glock but the fiber is so delicate and sentive that on two different ocasions the fiber fell off the sight so I went with Trijicons HD and never looked back after 6K rounds!

Old eyes, bifocals w/severe astigmatism here. The bright fiber is simply easier to pick up for me.

Ameriglo fiber .130" front with blacked out rear on one of my 26's and one of my 19's. Green on the 26 because I thought I'd try it. Meh, I personally like the red better.

I don't carry it, but I also run the Ameriglo .115" front red fiber on my range-toy 17.4. Thinner front post makes long distance shots much easier.

Also run a set of Dawson red fiber fronts on one of my 17.5's. They have a thinner fiber than the Ameriglo sights. Better protected, but smaller. I can follow/pick up the larger and brighter fiber of the Ameriglo's a bit quicker when moving and making multiple shots.

My only nitpick would be how the Ameriglo fiber sights would be more easily damaged than the Dawson, or any other night sight for that matter.

Ok this all makes me feel a little better. I loved the sight picture of the TFOs but the front sight was so large I had trouble making shots at distance. I ordered a set of the Dawson Carry sights with FO front and blacked out rear like I have in my other glocks, hopefully third time will be the charm lol

I have put TFO's on a couple of Glocks and liked them.
    I put the red Fiberoptic front sights on a G-17L, & G-24.
They were just range pistols, and they were great.

What brand FO and do you have any problem with it snagging in your holster?
I have FO sites on my non carry guns. I have tried them in holsters and the rear upper edge of the sight feels like it tries to catch on the draw.

interesting thread. So when I use a caliper, the width of my TruGlo TFX front sight is the same width as Glock factory sights, 0.15 inches
