Saw it over the weekend. Decent flick. Good story, some bad dialog and the cast is all local folk, not "real" actors.

We watched it as a family. Good time for us.

But after 2/3 of the movie, I made an observation that the makers of the film probably NEVER noticed. Ever. It's just a built-in assumption they made.

Here it is: Except for 10 seconds of one scene, EVERY criminal was black. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM.

Nice job, Hot-lanta-ans. (Oh, but they did have one black cop and one legal Mexican immigrant - )

That just struck me funny. But if you are a dad, a good flick to watch and make you think of how YOU are parenting.

Hey, Javier! I'm not paying you to stand in the street!
    Me?

I'm going to have a chicken sandwich... and a lemonade. And maybe some waffle fries!

I've been meaning to watch this film. Same actor that acted in the movie, "Facing the Giants."

If you liked "Courageous", then you should also rent "Fireproof". Another movie with good family values that will also make you think. It has a couple of the same actors in it.

Loved the movie. Saw it in theater and then our church purchased the "group viewing" license so we watched it at church Sunday night. While the Kendricks are still lagging behind on their acting skills, they're definitely making an improvement. The action scenes were actually pretty good...except for the obvious blank firing adapter that makes a showing during the last scene... ;-)

Except the one caught stealing drugs. And that storyline took longer that 10 seconds to play out.

Yes, I think that both of them are produced with a lean toward "Christians" but what struck me about both of them is that, regardless of the acting, I think it is important that a filmmaker would make a film showing people trying to improve their lives (and the lives of others) through a process that is bolstered by their faith. I think that a non-Christian would also enjoy it due to the strong family values it tries to support and encourage. I also watched "Seven Days in Utopia" and while it was alright, I was less impressed. Not that I'm a film critic or anything! Watch them and report back! :wavey:

I think the director of "Seven Days In Utopia" is a high school student from Cody, Wyoming... a town about an hour from me. HH

Very good movie with a great message! Our church group watched it and then we bought it as a family.

Sherwood Pictures of Sherwood Baptist church is who makes it. This was their fourth movie (Flywheel, Facing the Giants, and Fireproof were the first three).
