    Hey guys,
I have a Gen 3 21SF that I have set up with an ISMI 22lb. recoil spring and ss non-captured guide rod, and LW 6" non-ported barrel to be able to shoot .45 Super rounds.
I just got a new Gen 4 20. I really like everything about the gun and was wanting to get a Gen 4 21 and set it up like my Gen 3 21SF to be able to handle .45 Super ammo.
I know I would have to get a Gen 4 adapter to fit into the front of the slide to be able to put Gen 3 type guide rods and recoil springs in the Gen 4 slide.

Has anyone tried the Gen 3 type guide rod and recoil springs in their Gen 21 yet and how does it work for you?

    Thanks!

Glock store sells a Gen 4 RSA adapter for about $10 that fits in the front of the Gen 4 slide to allow Gen 3 type steel guide rods and recoil springs to fit in the Gen 4 slides. I'm going to order one and try it out in my Gen 4 20 first and then in the Gen 4 21 that I'll get soon.

I just got my Gen 4 RSA adapter in from the Glock Store. I tried it in my new Gen 4 Glock 20. It's a non-captured ss guide rod and a ISMI 22lb. recoil spring that I have in my Gen 3 21SF.
After much struggling with the spring, I managed to get it to fit in the barrel cut out and into the adapter.
So, the Gen 3 guide rods and springs fit into Gen 4 slides with this adapter. The new Gen 4 21 that I'll get soon will be set up to shoot .45 Supers just like the Gen 21SF.
    Alright!!!

Do you trust the Gen 4 21 to shoot 45 Super completly stock? Will the duel recoil spring hold up to the additional pressures? If yes, that would be sweet indeed.

That's why I got the Gen 4 RSA adapter. To be able to use the Gen 3 ss guide rod and the 22lb. recoil spring and the LW 6" barrel that I now have in my Gen 3 21SF in the Gen 4 21.
I don't intend to shoot the Gen 4 21 stock, when I get it in the next month or so, with a load as powerful as the .45 Super. No way shooting it stock with the .45 Super round.

Interesting. It's almost better just to stick with the Gen3 SF so that you can use the 22 or 24lb recoil spring/stainless guide rod-because the duel recoil spring of the Gen 4 won't keep up with the Super pressures.
