Hey Guys and girls, have any of you had your GLOCK slide refinished? I have a Old reliable G19 that the slide is looking pretty rough and worn. Has alot of holster wear, scratches and some dam discoloration on the top of the slide(Don't know what did it, but it is a big, brown nasty looking ring just in front of the ejection port) Yes I have tried scrubbing it and using all methods of cleaning. Have any of you had your Slide refinished by Glock or other aftermarket company? have any of you had a Hard Chrome or new wonder finish applied. Please let me know your results.

I hear Glock will refinish it for $50. I was considering having done on my gen 2 G22.

    Matt,

I just bought a Glock 26 for carry, but I find the Teflon finish so unappealing that I have thought of getting rid of the gun. I think it's so slick that it is dangerous for a carry gun. If I send you my slide, can you strip the Teflon and Parkerize it for me?

Paroxetine HCL isn't available in liquid form Walter, and prescribing without a license is a criminal act. Kiss my Heinie night sights.

Mark Graham at Arizona Response Systems does a nice job with his metacol finish. One of our USPSA shooters had his done a few years ago and it looks as good today as it did when he first had it done...and that's after a goodly number of presentations.

    John,

Yes we can strip and park it but you wont have any corosion protection without an aditional coat on top of the parking.

    Hello,

I refinished a second gen G17 slide w/ Birchwood-Casey Super Black. After detail stripping the slide, I simply completely degreased the slide, inside and out. I applied the BC-SuperBlack per the instructions. It came out great. I spent a grand total of $6 for the solution and had the other supplies on hand. It didn't take very long either. That application has been on the 17 for over 3yrs and still looks pretty good.

If you don't want to take the time to do it yourself, $50 isn't a bad deal to have it done for you.

    Good luck.

I use Fords Gun Refinishing exclusively. They do the best work I have found IMHO, with fast turn around. From std blue to hard chrome and the exotic finishes. I send then around 30 guns a year and they have never had to go back, period.

Custom Glock Racing did a G23 slide in hard chrome for me that came out great. Sorry to say they do not offer this service anymore as I was going to have a G35 slide done the same way.:(

Tell me more about your Par-Kote finishes. I am interested in the medium grey for my G19 slide.

What is the hardness of the finish?
    How does it wear?
    Does it provide any lubricity?
    Is it guaranteed?

    Thanks.
