Yep! Pretty sure a 40’s Mercury looks better than anything from the 80s.

Car show today where I live.👍. 300 Cars & Trucks, but these caught my eye.

Weather permitting, we enjoy going to local car shows. They are generally an afternoon of free entertainment, & now even my daughter likes going to them.

This resto-modded 1st Gen Camaro was my favorite of the season.

LT-1 swap & guessing a T-56 transmission

Not sure what suspension it was running (Detroit Speed?) but it had control arms and not the stock leaf springs.

I grew up in the 60's during the muscle car era. Friends owned Road Runners, Camaros, Malibus, etc. I always preferred sports cars like Triumphs, Austin Healeys (especially the 3000), MGs, Porsches. I ended up buying a 1970 MGB. I loved that car and it was a hoot to drive in road rallys. Wish I still had it, but I had to give it up as my family grew and their was no room for a baby seat.

Interesting history for those split window Corvettes. When they were introduced for the 1963 model year, the public hated them; and dealers had trouble selling them. Some dealers even had the rear divider removed and converted them to single glass rear windows in order to sell them. Other cars were converted by owners who bought them; and decided that the split window was a PITA. The rear window conversion became a very popular aftermarket conversion for some of the cars when they were less than a year old. Chevrolet saw the handwriting on the wall; and discontinued the split window for the 1964 cars.

Life and economics determine my taste in vehicles. The favorites were my first car, a 1956 Ford, a Ford pickup of 1957 vintage. Had a 1969 Chevy pickup that I put a big engine in. Had a 1993 Jeep Wrangler.

Current rides are a Toyota Corolla 16 years old and a Ford Ranger pickup 29 years old.

I saw a darker colored version of this truck bought at the Houston Mecum auction(taped the auction). It went for a good bit over $100K. Young man sitting at the table by himself but he looked pleased as punch while he was signing papers!
