Hey all,

I wanted to get your opinion on these grip shortening and reduction treatments. I seen several pics from a few different 'smiths that do this kinda thing. It looks like it is mainly done on the LARGE frame Glocks to make them more "carry" friendly. These 'smiths take a stock 21, shorten the grip to hold m30 mags and then reduce the size of the grip and then add their type of stippling. The result is a Glock that looks like it would be pretty handy with a slightly longer sight radius than the 30. I have also seen pics of the same type of treatment done to a 17 and 19 to accept 26 mags.

Have you ever handled or seen one? What do you think? Do you think such a treatment on a 20 or 21 would be useful or pretty much just a waste of money? Just curious about your thoughts.

Thanks

I like them both. 17 chopped to 19 is a great carry gun. Glocks don't point right naturally for me, so a reduction is worth it ( I like the light weight, reliability and ease of use the Glock offers) even though I actually prefer 1911s and Sigs. I'm carrying a Glock around 75% of the time for those reasons.

Nalapombu;

I am very interested in the "Chopped" Glocks. I have seen a G17 chopped to accept G19 magazines. I have a slightly modified, 13 year old Glock 20 that is my EDC. I love it. So, I purchased another Glock 20 to do this very thing. The new G20 will be chopped to accept G29 magazines. I have already purchased two G29 magazines in anticipation of chopping the newer G20. I personal think this is the best of both worlds. When ever I get it done, I will post pictures.

I'm just a bit fond of reductions...:whistling:
My G19 with a reduction, fingerhumps removed, undercut, and rounded triggerguard.

G17 with grip chop, reduction, fingerhumps removed, ad undercut triggaerguard.

Another G17 ,grip chop, reduction, figerhumps removed, rounded triggerguard, undercut, and Bark texturing.

they look nice, heck they look great, but i prefer the grip hump. I def wouldnt mind if it was slightly less pronounced like a beretta or sig, but im not a fan of the completely straight grip. I like the triggers of 1911's but i think their grips feel like a piece of plywood. I know i am in the minority here...but thats how I feel.

My Second-Gen 21 was Reduced and Stippled by a friend who used to work in a local Gun Shop...unfortunately, he has moved "Up North", and no longer works in the local shop...FWIW, my 21 ended up being a lil' "Slimmer" than even a 21 SF...FITS me VERY Well...and is the SOFTEST-Shooting "Plastic" .45 I've EVER Fired...FWIW...Hope you ENJOY....mikey357
