I bought a new G39 and noticed it does not have that half-moon cutout on the back part of the magwell, my older G27 does. I wish my G39 did, the half-moon cutout reduced the chance of the rim of the shell catching on it during mag insertions, as well as getting your thumb up there to help remove mags if necessary(as you all know already). Does all sub-compacts not have this cutout anymore? Anyone know when this change was made?

The compacts had them in 2nd gen, they went away in 3rd gen. The full size guns had them through 3rd gen, the new Gen4s do not have the half-moon cut-out. I don't remember if the RTF2 full sizes have them.

Edit: Oh I thought you meant the front of the grip, sorry.

Thanks for the info, I wish they kept the rear half-moon cut, looks like I need to get one of those controversial plugs...
