    Hey all,

Have been looking for a less expensive version of the Maxpedition Fatboy side pack.

The reason I don't want to buy a Maxpedition is because I need to cut around on it a bit to customize it and be able to add an arrow quiver to it. I would also want to add another water bottle holder to it, the Maxpedition bags only have 1 bottle carrier.

I have been looking for a bag like that and can't find something that fits the bill for me. I'm trying to make a POSSIBLES BAG to carry all my gear with me when I go hunting, including my quiver. I don't think I'd like spending $75 for a REAL Maxpedition and then start "modifying" it to try and make it work only to find out later that it didn't.

Do any of you have any links or suggestions on what bag I can use for this project? Here is a pic of a Maxpedition REMORA that someone modified and you can kinda get an idea of what I am trying to do. The only thing is the REMORA is MORE expensive than the FATBOY series and it is designed to be worn on the BACK instead of the side.

    Here it is:

Try the 5.11 Tactical Series S.E.R.E. Bag.

Maxpedition gear is very expensive. I've looked a lot but so far haven't convinced my self the gear is worth the price.

Actually prefer some of the Condor knock offs. The little molle bag -- like the size of a carton of cigarettes -- actually is better configured by them.

Check Cheaper Than Dirt for a lot of choices.
