This may not be the right place for posting this, but didn't really know where else to put it. I've had this for several years, I have no idea where I got it, or why I have it, but I do....anyway...it is marked M.C.K e-z load 44 cal. Ruger. and the part that stands upright is hinged and folds down. Anyone know when this was made and what it's practical use was? It sure doesn't seem very practical for loading. Maybe a display stand?

Probably to hold a black powder revolver still while it is reloaded. Kind of a third hand.

You got it. Nice to have on the bench with a cap and ball revolver.

Well, Mr. Josey Wales never needed one.
