Anybody on here have a Ruger 57 yet? I’m almost always underwhelmed by new offerings but the Ruger has piqued my interest.

To any GTers who have them what are your initial thoughts? Pros? Cons?

    Thanks in advance guys.

I hear there is a recall pending. On the QT type recall.

I have one but haven’t fired it yet. I like it.

Pros: light and well balanced, a large pistol that fits my hand, good fit and finish, awesome mags that load like an AR.

Cons: noticeable trigger crunch right before the break

I have yet to even see one in person, not that I’ve been looking real hard...

I am curious about this gun, but haven't heard that. Apparently I need to crawl out from under my rock and practice my Google skills. Normally I see this sort of thing on forums like this, but I apparently missed it. Good to learn, as I am interested in this gun.

Like all good rumors, my info comes from a local indoor range/ gun shop. The owner told me he was trying to get one since he had lots of people asking for it but his distributor told him they weren’t available because “Ruger had a recall going on.”

it uses the 5.7X28 cartridge if I am correct. my problem is the cost of the ammo which is almost $.50/rnd. we'll see if it caches on. great velocity and very low recoil from what I read.

Only within the last year have I been able to come to grips with the idea of trusting a handgun in 9mm for protection. Considering my current age, and that fact... I'd say check in with me sometime around 2045-2050'ish. If through some miracle I am still alive at that time, perhaps I will give it some consideration.

Loving mine have around 350 rounds through it been flawless ,sad to hear that could be recall for what?
Very accurate and trigger is better then my older FN and a much improved safety over FN because of location easier to engage

I had a passing fancy to have a Thompson Center Contender made in 5.7X28 for squirrel hunting at longer ranges. I did shoot a squirrel via an FN pistol at 40 yards and it just tore up the squirrel meat. So, I didn't get that barrel made. I stick to 22 LR and 22 WMR for squirrels.

I played with one the other week. Felt good in the hand, trigger was better than I thought it would be. Need to shoot one now :D
