I'm getting a kkm barrel for my g20 so I can shoot whatever I want in it. I'd like to get the 6 inch one for improved accuracy and velocity but I'm not sure how it will look. Anyone have a picture they can post to help me make my decision?
Any input either way about the best option for othe reasons.
    thanks for the help

Question I have always wanted to ask is... how much difference does the 6in barrel really make on the 20??

I'm too lazy to look it up and apparently you are too.
But I'll give you an educated guess. About another 100 fps.

According to Wiki, you would be correct:

Another benefit of the six inch barrel is legality. Some states have minimum barrel lengths for hunting and a 6" should get you there in most.

That makes alot of sense!!! I can almost bet it definitely increases accuracy!!

This would be way too much for HD. You'd probably shoot a bullet through a BG then through 4 walls.

I'm not sure this would do too much to accuracy. If the front sight was on the tip of the barrel, then I'd say it might.

Yeah it's not going to be anymore accurate, just gonna hit a little harder.

I haven't done a lot of testing, but my last chrono run showed an increase of 22 fps from my stock G21 barrel to a 6" LWD barrel. Of course this was with 230 grain ball ammo. I imagine it would show more with lighter bullets at higher pressure.

I run a 6" ported barrel with a 22# recoil spring set up for 45 Super and I'm still in the infancy stages of testing loads. Lots of ideas, not enough time...

Desert Scout has posted a lot about hunting and testing with the G20 and, IIRC, says his experience shows an average increase of around 35 fps with 180 and 200 grain loads in 10mm.

I'd assume the porting is shaving off some FPS.

Might as well get the longer slide, too. It can add a little weight for easier control, plus a longer sight radius.

it gives you the oppurtunity to hunt with it. in WI you need a 6'' barrel on anything bigger than a .45 to hunt with. (pistol). Im thinking about buying a 20 with a 6'' barrel so i can hunt with it
