I have seen ads for them, but haven't heard a word about them. Any reviews or thoughts?

    I called.

They won't be out until April, which probably means June.

I'll wait for v2.0. I'm so happy JMB's design "earned" the Desert Eagle name. Oh, brother.

Yeah, that AD is very irritating, though it won't stop me from picking one up.

Even June would seem to me to be overly optimistic. I've heard these are being made for MRI by BUL, the same people who've been jerking around Mike Kassnar for quite some time (original timetable was to be January 2009 from what I've read). I wouldn't hold my breath. MR should be able to market these fairly effectively, ridiculous ad notwithstanding, once (IF) they get the guns. I've kind of lost interest.

I would by one if they took the billboard off the slide.

Even if I had the money for one Magnum Research's arrogance in their ad convinced me not to buy it. I'm sorry the 1911 had a pedigree that YOU needed to fill not the other way around.

I'd never buy one, just simply for the fact that they embarass/insult JMB for marketing purposes.

Oh and Desert Eagle isn't exactly synonymous with "reliable" from my experiences to say the very least.

I never said that, especially when I've had 46 and 47 on the way for a long time now.

    I certainly agree.

I'll get one just because I like to try the new models, but that AD is a big turnoff and will hurt sales. I have half a mind to email them about it.

After trying to keep up with the BUL and Charles Daly saga, I gave up on this 1911 a while ago. If you believe CD's side of the story regarding how this 1911 was developed and came to be in MR's lineup, it is a bit disappointing. I would say that that alone would keep me from buying one; however, I never really thought too strongly about buying one and I am not necessarily a huge fan of CD (never had a CD of any kind some I neutral). For those of you interested in the drama, here is a link discussing how BUL supposedly sold CD's design to MR

and then the word that CD's parent company is closing its doors
