That's a completely different issue than whether it's working to reduce transmission, or whether working to reduce transmission even matters.

I just wear those blue, surgical masks. No problems breathing.

This would be effective AND you can stay hydrated with it on.

MIL sewed masks with filter insert pocket. After changing the ear elastic rings to shoestring, it fits great.

I was wearing an N-95 one, that looked like a duck bill for about 6 hours at a clip. I was doing security for a supermarket for about 19 hours on the weekend until recently. It was completely annoying, and I had to cut a couple slits in it to breathe. It was very difficult to talk, and very strange not being able to smile at people. If you wear glasses , they constantly fog. I recently got a neck gaiter from mission.com. I’m not doing security anymore, but it’s much more comfortable. It would definitely have made things better. It’s less of an inconvenience to pull up and down. You still need to smile with your eyes though. I don’t think I will ever get used to wearing a mask .

They are issuing the blue surgical masks, with ear loops, at my plant. That would be my recommendation. Thankfully, masks aren't mandatory in my department.

Nice. Just looked it up. Do those breathe panels negate the effectiveness of preventing particles into your mouth and nose?

I was ready to buy despite the price, but their site says they will send a design that I did not pick if they are out of stock of the one I want. Forget that.

Which parts are the hoax? The virus? The dead people? The viral shedding of asymptomatic people? The ability of a barrier to slow the spread of disease?

Please enlighten us on what "whole thing is a hoax"?

For comfort, if you need an N95 or higher for whatever reason then get one with a vent. The vent adds significantly to the cost but helps keep your face cool. If you work in a shop with paint or oil fumes and the mask is there to protect you from that, you'll need a "p" rated mask like a P100.

    Good luck,
    Grumpy

true. but some of us need a mask if we are to be compliant with places like Costco, Menards, etc. i suppose i should boycott them, but it is too much of a pita.
