Anyone ever used a Ouija board, or know someone that has?

Serious question. I've heard about some, let's just say, less than pleasant experiences encountered after using one of these from some otherwise credible people.

I think it was on this very board that one member stated that he had a brother who used one and ended up in a mental institution and tried to kill himself, and kept muttering "It won't leave me alone".

I've never used one, and never will. Just wondering if anyone here has.

I did once in high school. Went to a friends house where they had one out. i asked it a question with someone else operating it, and it absolutely knows things. Its a supernatural device, and i would never ever be around one again.

I think its similar to driving a car or throwing a ball.

Driving instructors will tell one to look where they want the car to go.

Pitchers/QBs don't "aim" a ball, they look and throw.

Your brain will make inputs subconsciously.

It's one of those things that if you believe it has powers, then it'll "work" for you. If you are skeptical, nothing will happen.

Some friends and I tried it when we were kids and unless someone moved it themselves, nothing happened.

Foolishly a few friends and I used one in the late 80's at a house I was renting. Let's just say we didn't like what happened. I threw that thing in the garbage can, and then found it in a closet a week or so later. I again threw it in the garbage can with a witness. We again found it in the closet a few weeks later. We then burned it, and never saw it again. The room we used it in has been cold ever since....The new owners have confirmed this to me on a few occasions. I don't know if I believe all the stuff you hear about Ouija boards, but I won't ever go near one again.

If the house is "hot" - you won't need one.

If you believe in God and the Bible, then you know also that there are Satanic forces at work in this world. If you seek out demons, there are plenty out there willing to oblige. Mock me or make fun of this post if you wish, but true evil exists.

I have a friend that I met in high school that was a very serious, no non-sense type of person that played with one with her cousin a couple of times. She really won't say what had happened, but she is scared to death of them now and discouraged anyone from messing with them.

    Yeah, what he said.
As a bona-fide Christ follower, I know that thru Him I can fight anything. That said, I don't go looking for trouble and messing with a board is looking for trouble.
We saw Paranormal Activity because my wife wanted to see it. Had I known what it was, I would have never gone. Some walked out. Yeah it was just a movie but I have no doubt crap like that happens. You can call them ghosts all you want, I'll call them demons.

Wow, it blows my mind that a forum full of people who deem themselves rational adults are afraid of a stupid ancient game.

Evil is free agency of men, as young teens we'd break out the board and scare each other when the parent's went out, it's fun to scare each other when your 12 or 13.

I'm not afraid of a Ouija board, but Chutes and Ladders can be spiritually terrifying.

Oh, the horrors of the demonically influenced products of Parker Brothers.

In the early 60's, they were as common as monopoly games....or any other board game.

My sister and I had one as kids.... it was boring to me.

Seems to be quite a few "easily suggestible" people on this thread. :whistling:
