I swear this thing’s from another planet. Waaaay outta my comfort zone. Wife’s no help, she thinks it’s funny.

I need to vacuum up a little drywall dust after cutting out a hole for a safe. The easiest part of this project should be cleanup, but I simply cannot operate this f’ing vacuum.

I ended up just grabbing my handheld car vac, quick and easy.

Easy to see you need some training for correct operation of small household appliances.

Nothing will booger up a vacuum like drywall dust...real fine stuff that will then clog and harden on the filter.

Keep feigning ineptitude or else it will be added to your tasking list.

Drywall dust? I'm surprised the wife even condoned using the family vacuum.

Drywall dust will FUBAR a normal vac. Use a shop-vac or just a broom.

That's what I did after she laughed. "Okay, this is ladies work anyway, you do it. I know the dust pile will drive you nuts long before it bothers me."

But I was wrong, it really irked the sh*t outta me so I grabbed the car vac. Next time I'll hold the line. ;)

Okay smart guy, then how do I get the handle to lean backward? And how do I connect the brush attachment? And where is the brush attachment? Did this f'ing thing come with a brush attachment? :brickwall:

To add some perspective, I wouldn't expect the mrs to know how to operate my John Deere.

Dyson vacuums are the worst, can't even find the dingdonging power button. I have used plenty of them in customers homes and would NEVER buy a Dyson. Weak motors and small plastic collection canisters that instantly clog up and have to be constantly emptied.

I've got a 20-year old Kenmore upright, simple, super powerful, all I have to do is change out the bag and clean the roller every now and then, it just keeps on going...

Plan B would be to start vacuuming up things that should not be: cats, carpet tacks, magazines (hey, a Dyson could do that).
