Anyone been to Samoa?

    They had that nasty tsunami there last year so my daughter is going on a church mission trip this summer to help out.

    I don't know anything about the place except all the Samoans I know are big friendly guys.

    She wanted to go to Haiti and I said no to that, as well as China.

    She is 15 and went with the same group to Zambia 2 summers ago with no problems.

    Just wondering if anybody here has any knowledge about the island and how safe it is...

    It is very safe, the Samoans (and all Polynesians) are a warrior culture, but they are Honest and God Fearing.

    No need to worry, I would send my daughter there with no worries (over Haiti and China.)

    My wife and I travel alot to Micronesia and Polynesia to dive.

    In that case, she should be protected by the moon or some trees or something. :)
