Shopping around for appliances that handle e-mail retention (we have to comply with SEC 17a-3 & 17a4 regs). Does anyone have any in place that they can give some feedback on? Likes/dislikes? Cost?

    Thanks.

    Hi Netninja,

    Yeah, it's SEC 17a-4.

Looking at products by KVS, openText, and some smaller companies.

http://www.opentext.com/products/livelink/email/archiving/ (very small description under regulatory compliance).

A local mailserver is covered under that reg, is it not?

If they are not using friggin' Yahoo Mail or some other online accounts, then you can archive the messages very easily.

No, no yahoo accts will have to be logged. but looking at third party softwares that can generate checksums and teh like to prove there was no alteration of the backups as well as remove delibility.

All the solutions are $10-15K so want to see what other people use and their thoughts on the products.
