i personaly feel that a man who is properly trained w/ a PR is much better equiped than w/ a expandable straight baton.
i have a few that i am selling NIB at cost.
    Monadnock PR-24STS $30
    Monadnock 1121 expandable control device 21 $42
monadnock black leather w/ black metal ring belt holders $6
    psequip@bellsouth.net
i also have a load of the compact double flexcuffs by monadnock $1 per (min of 6).
    thanks
    stay safe

I started LE long before the expandable baton was invented.
The PR24 was standard & quite effective, but was an enormous pain to take on/off, bouncing on foot pursuits, took up room in unit, etc.

Expandables are nearly as effective & sooo much easier to lug around for an entire shift + it is always right there.
