It's suppose to be like an AR that hits like a 308 ?
Its called the AR10- the rifle that came before Fairchild designed the AR15. The AR10 shot .308 cartridges.
Not talking about the AR 10 but the Remington 30 AR ???
The AR-30 is a rifle made by ArmaLite.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>
Here is the link to their site and rifle.<o></o>
I believe the OP is talking about the cartridge 30AR.
My bad. :embarassed: I thought he was talking about a rifle.
Cartridge . Anybody !!!
It's not really like a .308. It's ballistics are barely like the .300 Savage. It comes in one weight 125 gr in either ballistic tip or JSP.
It's a .450 Bushmaster case necked down to .308. Fires a 125 gr bullet at 2,800 fps (probably from a 24" test barrel not a 16" carbine). That's equal to a .300 Savage with the same weight bullet, but the standard bullets for the .300 Savage are a 150 or 180 gr.
I think it's a great idea, but Remington is doing a terrible job marketing the round.
Va fish that's what I was talking about but why hasn't it caught on ??
Prolly cause the whole .30 cal thing is pretty much micro niched out.
1. Remington is not marketing it well.
2. As far as I know remington has kept it proprietary so no one else can make them.
Too bad because it sounds like it would be a good hog, deer, and home defense round if it were more main stream .
