so I saw an ad today for a company who produced badges for civilians that say CONCIELED WEAPON PERMIT and are held in a leather wallet type set with a slot for your CCW permit right next to it. They say it is a safe way to identify yourself when holding a criminal at gunpoint as the police are responding. I guess i can see that it could possibly work in that one in a million chance but I don't think I would ever use one, I guess I would feel kinda embarresed about it, and also I wonder if you could ever get in trouble for impersinating a police officer??? Does anybody out there use one of these, and what are your general oppinions on them ??

The consensus around here is its a stupid idea to say the least. IMO someone who is not a LEO/fire should not have any kind of badge.

Also when I reach for my wallet and my shirt rides up, the badge gets exposed, chicks dig it.

Hey, hey! Lets not be TOO hasty here. I carry Mace Pepper Foam in addition to my gun; lots of drunks around my area, and I'd prefer to not have to draw my weapon unless a weapon is present. I've seen guys minding their own business have someone walk up to them, and deck them in the face because their drunk buddies dared him to do it. I do agree that the baton and cuffs are absurd.

Yes it is. My current CCW Permit is from FL; got it while I was stationed down there at Eglin AFB. Weirdly, I have to get a TN Permit soon, as TN says FL doesn't require you to take a class for get your permit; last time I checked, I had to either take a course, or show them my Military ID to suffice for the course requirement. :faint:

Oddly, the Claymore Mine trailer hitch covers are illegal as well, as its considered a "Hoax Explosive Device".
