It looks pretty good compared to a Serpa? I like level II holsters and the fact that the release button is inside at my thumb vs outside at my index finger. I have always been weary with my Serpa holster when wearing it in a vehicle or when it bumps up against stuff under rough conditions like crawling ect. Not that I do alot of crawling lol. With the button inside it seems like it would be more protected from the environment and/or personal gear hitting it?

I have also heard that a small pebble or twig can get lodged in the Serpa action and you absolutely cannot remove the gun with out destroying the holster. I own a Serpa and have not had any problems yet?

I was just wondering if anybody actually has this new 5.11 thumb drive system and how do you like it if you do have it?

I was expecting to see an actual thumb drive holster (like a USB drive).

Would not surprise me, people will buy anything that says 5.11 on it apparently!

Interesting. Made by Blade-Tech for 5.11.

If you paint it black, and put velcro on it, ninjas will buy it. I never understood security features on concealed holsters. If it's a duty holster, buy Safariland.

I am a big fan of 5.11 products but I am left handed, and the holster is only available for right handers. Would buy it though.

Anything made by 5.11 will be high performance and quality.

Don't have one and don't desire one either. I have the BladeTech/5.11 holster/mag pouch combo for my G34 that I use in IDPA. For duty use it is Safariland all the way!

In my experience, most 5.11 products are low quality and overpriced.

It seems counter-intuitive to use your thumb to push away from the direction you're pulling the pistol. The SERPA release uses your index finger with no more effort than slight pressure toward the holster. The index finger can them remain stationary while you perform a normal draw from the holster. It feels very natural even coming off a conventional holster.

I noticed this holster online the other day and kinda like it. I've been looking for a kydex that covers the gun more the most and a little more secure. This definately meets both my requirements.

The Serpa is fine for guys who don't go crawling in the mud, dirt, or otherwise are in the field.

I carry my pistol in one while flying. But for mud slogging, I have a better holster, or I carry it on my chest so its protected, and up out of most of the mess.
