Any life threatening encounters in which "you have used" or "almost about to use" your defensive handgun to protect yourself, family or others? any true account stories would be worth shared.

Note:
This has been my second post of the same topic since last year and if i could only post this daily to every thread, i really would. i saved the previous posts and am still collecting true-to-life factual stories.

Thanks for supporting! Happy & Safe Shootin!

Every other month, I re-qualify with my primary handgun. The range was a few miles from my wife's place of work. After my quals, we would usually have lunch at "Aling Delia's" a restaurant just across a Middle School in Long Beach. While I was waiting for her, two teenage boys started fist fighting then one of them pulled out a pen and was about to stab the other boy, I pulled out my ankle gun, brandished it and yelled, "Police". The two boys stopped fighting and the crowd dispersed.
No, I was not in uniform. In fact I was wearing a suit and tie. The only weapon I had on me was my .38 in my ankle holster. My G17 and a dept shotgun were in the trunk of my unmarked police vehicle.
Sheriff Deputies responded to "Man with a Gun" call but I quickly ID'd myself.
All's well that end's well.
I have more incidents but I was in uniform so........

around 10yrs ago (while i was still based in manila), i was out with my gf. i was about to bring her home around 10pm when i noticed a cab that has been behind my car for the last 10 blocks or so. just to be sure i wasnt being followed, i tried to circle the same block 4x and he did the same. so i told my gf that i wont drop her yet since someone seems to be following us.

natakot ako syempre but i kept my cool and slowly drove away. too bad i had to stop in an intersection because of the traffic light. i kept looking at my rear view mirror and noticed 2 men alighted from the cab and were on their way to my car.

di pa sila nakarating sa kotse ko, bumaba na ako at kinasa ko na ang baril ko. i pointed it to them and warned that if they come any closer, ill kill them. next thing i know, the 2 men ran as fast as they can in different directions. the cab also sped away.

everything happend too fast at di ko man lang napansin ang markings ng cab nor its plates. gf ended up sleeping in my place. it was a happy night :)

Long story short:

Walking home at night. Two idiots meet me at the middle point to the door when they ask me for my phone. When it was obvious they weren't going anywhere till I lent it to them, I did, took three steps back, hand on my grip, until they "finished". Granted, they didn't even dial any set of seven to ten digits. They walked away and robbed a friend of mine naked.

Friend of mine in Espana while waiting for a cab, inakbayan sabay pakita ng rusty old knife and said hand over your wallet. My Friend in his right wits said, nandito sa bag ko, opened the bag with the muzzle pointed at the BG saying dito sa bag ko...eto gusto mo putok ko sa iyo? The BG seeing the gun just ran like hell.

I have a couple of I need a gun but dont have one experience.

1. About 17 years ago, I was going to drive out of the factory I was working at. Guard opens the gate and my car is still inside the compound. A car suddenly blocks the gate. SOB pulls a gun, looked like a 1911, and points it at me. WTF? Never seen him before, dont know him. I freeze. The SOB shouts and curses then drives away. Never saw him again.

2. About 11 years ago, was trying to collect a debt for the company I was working for. The tenant refused to pay. I meet them in a public place. They had a relative with them that they introduced as a cop or military guy. Cant remeber which. This guy had a gun on him. I could see the buldge under his shirt. Good thing we were in public. Nothing came out of it.

EDTF, It was near UST gate Espana.
Geezzz I have to be a lot more paranoid/aware when walking the area. There was also a student who was stabbed and killed a year or so ago just for his/her cell :steamed: but this happened late at night.

Well, There are times I have my folder in my hand when I walk and my spider senses tingle :wow:

My personal experience was in Makati, taxi following my car for a few blocks. I noticed coz I kinda snake through a traffic congestion and this taxi was trying to do the same passing from one lane to the lane where I was at, making last minute turns, well, you can see that they made extreme efforts to make that turn given the traffic. Luckily, I made a right turn and they couldnt get the other car moving and as I look at my rear view mirror, three guys in the cab were all looking right at me as I moved away. For me while I did have my trusty Glock, it ended well without the necessity of having to engage. Since then my Glock was 24/7 loaded at arms reach.

it is said that the best thing that could happen to somebody out of self-defense is to never draw a gun in one's lifetime.

I havent had any experiences YET (& hope i never will) though my bro-in-law Rudge almost got his ass kicked way back '93. cut long story short, brought his ex-GF home near Fatima med school, his car cut through some corners at some eskinitas, almost nudged some bystanders, next thing he knew there were 5 bummers approaching his car holding dos por dos (2x2 wooden planks). The thing is his ex-GF somehow brought his carkeys together with her apartment keys. My bro-in-law rolled down his windows and fired a warning shot. Rudge recalled these gangsters had eyes like owls and quickly fled the scene. Rudge was blottered by the barangay a few days after yet who knows what may have happened if he didnt had his Colt 1911 .45 Gold Cup with him that night.

That story was one of the main reasons why i became a gun enthusiast 10 years after to date. My current home defender is a S&W Model 627-5 Performance Center "8-shot" .357 Magnum revolver (which is right beside me now as i write this on my bed) and i plan to get myself sometime real soon with a 9mm or a .380 North American Arms for CCW.

We are not pro-violence. Just responsible gun-owners ready, willing and able to defend ourselves and loved ones in the worst case scenarios.

Happy & Safe shooting to all!
