Do you think the sub-compact GLOCKs have enough dustcover length to support a light? Probably one of the light-weight lights like the Surefire LED light, but I don't know about the larger incandescent lights.

I have no doubt it's possible, I'm sure the engineers could figure something out. They might not be the "traditional" rails, but I think there's room.

Oh, it's coming. You know it is. The micro Springfield XD already set the precendent, so stop grumbling.

Just because Springfield did it doesn't mean it's a good idea... :)

I said they set a PRECEDENT. I didn't pass judgment on whether or not it was a good decision.

That said, their XML light on that gun is a brisk seller...

Why would you want to take a nice small compact CCW gun and hang a light on it?

I dunno, why would you want to take a nice small CCW gun and color the frame green? Because there might be a market for it, and because you can.

Color doesn't effect the way the gun works or conceals. I really don't care what color my guns are (mostly because I'm color blind).

I just see no need to hang a bunch of stuff off a nice little carry gun. If you think you need all that stuff get a H+K Mark 23.

Lights Needed on a gun??? That's laughable;z ;z ;z even after all these years. Why any of us would truly need a light on a handgun is bull**** and a function of marketing.

    Go ahead. Tell me why you need a light on a gun - I'm still wondering;g ;g ;g ;g ;g ;g ;g ;g ;g ;g

I don't put lights on my guns, either. I just heard a rumor and was wondering if it was true.

nobody ever said in this thread that the guns Needed a light .....................;Q ;Q

i for one do not use lights on a gun ..... but some folks do and the rails are not going to hurt anything if they are there

You should know that a handgun is but a tool - and it is a single tool that stands on its own. However, if you want it to be like a Swiss Army Knife, up to you.

LOL, that's great: "Hey, Gaston: Can you make a G19 that has a cell phone, bottle opener, key ring, gets email and, oh yeah, a flash light?"

As long as they put the rails on so they will fit the same holsters and not get it the way of anything else I guess it doesn't hurt anything. (there are rails on my G19 and they don't seem to hurt anything. No rails on my G36 and I don't miss them a bit)

But redesigning them for rails and new molds will have to add to Glocks cost.
