Here is a pic of my rig. 1986 Jimmy. Just got the new 35in BFGoodrich mud terrain tires on it yesterday. I'm excited to see how these tires work in deap snow. It currently has a 4 in lift but I have a 6 in rough country sitting in the garage. I need to find some time to put it on. Matt
Yup. I have had quite the stable over the years too. 74 VW Thing 76 CJ-7 3 different 4x4 Toyota P/U's 2 Land Cruisers LR Discovery LR Defender (10 on coolness factor scale) Wrangler Rubicon Current Whip: 2008 DC Tacoma I wish I still had the Thing, D-90 and the Rubicon.
I am in spirit. I've still got the toys and tools, just nowhere to put them. Somehow fences and tresspass warning signs starting growing out of the ground at every possible and former off-roading location.....every single one.
they suck in deep snow .. and thats with 500 hp pushing all 4 of them .. if your in pure fresh powder they are okay, but when you have any ice or build up condensed snow on top .. they are very bad ..
Ya, the reviews I have read give it about 3 stars outa 5 in snow. though, i noticed I don't have to be in 4wheel drive on ice or packed snow now! What do you have them on? I'm just getting into this hobby. Next i need to figure out what kinda lockers to get or can afford. Anyone have any opinions? I'm just building this thing up as a primary hunting vehicle/drive to work through anything vehicle (1 mile each way). Would like to do some mudding in the spring. There isn't really any rock climbing up here lol. Matt
'95 4Runner with 33" BFG MTs, and new factory suspension. Doesn't have the look that a fullsized pickup with huge lift and monster tires has (which is fine by me), but I'm a decent driver, know my limits, and have a lot of fun driving around the big boys trying to pull each other out of something stupid.
87 suzuki samurai with toyota axles, lockers, regeared, roll cage, bfg km2's, etc. we have a few offroad parks in Alabama. love offroading & buying Glock pistol's. Roll Tide !!! see pics at http://m720.photobucket.com/albums/zukyota
Not addressed to me, but I LOVE mine! Done moderate snow, rocks, and mud with no problems whatsoever. Surprisingly quiet at highway speeds too. They're not wearing fast either.
Here is my hunting/bad weather/4 wheelin' ride. 2003 Silverado w/Pro-Tec package, ARB bumper with Ramsey Winch, KC lights, 6" lift and BFG 35" KM2s. Don't need 500 hp to push it, does great in the snow if you know how to drive it. I am a fan of ARB lockers. I have 110K on this and I am getting ready to mod the tranny this spring and hopefully upgrade the rear axle.
Nice rigs guys! Ive been interested for a while but just recently started hitting the trails. Here are my off roaders, Ive not had the Series Rover out yet but still quite capable. 1992 Range Rover Classic 1994 Land Rover Defender 90 1973 Series III Land Rover
Yep, my 1999 Jeep Cherokee Classic does a great job. It just needs a minor lift, larger tires and some air locking diffs.
mine are on a 4x4 diesel dodge .. they do great in everything except snow .. BUT if you just take your time and think about what your doing .. they will still get you wher you need to go safely .. you just gotta go a little slower .. but ive gone home in 10+ inches of snow several times .. also they tear up new snow like theres no tomorow .. they just give no grip or traction on packed down snow / ice ..
