Am looking into getting a new toy and the Miata interests me, can they be modded out?
Sure they can be modded, check this out..http://www.monstermiata.com/
I love my 99 miata. She's been a great car for 7 years now. There more mods for the car than you can throw a stick at. Engine swaps as listed before, turbos, supercharges, seat upgrades, suspension upgrades, tons and tons of stuff, I'd suggest you check out
for a great deal more info.
Miata, the quintessential sports car IMHO, proving that to have a real, legitimate sports car, you dont have to be rich, or even well off....
They CAN be modded... but we race 'em pretty much stock.
There are even kits to put a v8 in there!!!! Also lots of bodykits, if thats your thing. You can make it look sort of like a ferrarri or even a 2seat 1965 mustang. Of course the ultimate body kit is to ditch the body and frame and use the parts to build a lotus 7 replica.
My brother has a miata. He got into a fender bender. I told him to put in a roll bar, add lots of lights and then bunches of rally stickers. He just went and had the dents fixed instead.
I like Miatas. I would like them better if I could fit in them.
Miata's are very fun to drive, but need more power.
The latest versions are a bit ugly IMO, mostly in the front.
But still, very fun to drive!
IMHO, the newest Miata actually looks like it has some balls. The greatest part is they only added ~25lbs or so....
The rest of it isn't bad, it's really just the front end I don't like.
