surplus mags are cheap and abundant.. I cant imagine any reason to use anything else.

Centerfire was selling new Croatian magazines, fit in all of my AK’s, and it has the hold open feature. I think they were less than 10 dollars a piece on sale.

Anyone have anything to say about the Arsenal Circle 10 magazines?? I've wanted to try one for awhile now just never hit the buy now.....

The reviews on them are pretty impressive!

Yeah, I e got a couple, they are pricey but very nice. The best polymer mags I've found. The new production Bulgarian steel mags are also good to go. CDNN usually has these

IMO the steel reinforced Bulgarian polymers are the best new AK mags you can buy right now when you consider the prices they command. I have no issues with them. They fit, feed, and function like they're supposed to. If you want to spend big $ then the Bulgarian Circle 10 mags are great, but all of your popular AK mags from budget, Polish polymer, to costly, Russian Bakelite work fine in my experience. (Whatever that's worth) I've always liked how the U.S Palms mags fit my guns, but many don't like that you can't break them down.

My least favorite AK mags are the Magpul mags. They feed my guns reliably, but they fit them lousy compared to most other mags I own. I even prefer Tapco mags to them. Like has been said surplus mags work great. Steel surplus gets the job done. Really though I probably have 50+ AK mags of all sorts, and I can't think of ever having an issue with an AK working where I blamed it on a magazine.
