Probably 20 years ago when I got into law enforcement, an old timer recommended I get a Beretta 86 Cheetah .380 in case I ever got injured. Back then I was into 9mm, .357, and .45 (we got issued .40’s). I took his advice after he showed me some autopsy’s and how the 86 worked. I became a fan of .380’s for a bug and deep carry. Even got a Beretta 84 with 13 round magazine of .380’s, like a mini 92.
I saw the Beretta 80X is coming out and was priced at $1,000 plus. Then I noticed the 86 I bought for probably around $400 is now selling for $1,200 to $2000 plus.

Did a video on the 86 Cheetah, one of the rare tip up barrel .380’s.

I used to have one. Very comfortable nice shooting gun. It had one flaw I didn't like. When I shot it ,it would blow powder right back in my face. I couldnt shoot with out eye protection. Its too bad , I loved this gun . Just felt right, couldn't get past the blast getting in my face.

I would love a mini Beretta 92 but I don’t do blowback pistols.

I've never even seen an 86, but I've got an 84F that I like quite a bit. Good shooting little gun, whose only fault I can think of is it's rather small front sight.

I have an 84FS as well and like it for being medium framed with 13 rounds that seemed ahead of its time for a compact higher capacity.
