With some of the recent changes on some of the 4th gen Glocks, are there any plans for the 26? I'm tempted to buy one but would rather wait if they plan on doing anything new.

I think the baby Glock's will be the last to be changed if at all.

Do you think they'd go for all those features for a subcompact frame? I imagine the cost for Gen4 features on a sub may make the 26/27 etc... much more expensive than the larger frames to the point people may be less inclined to buy them... IMHO of course

I am curious if they will change anything with the recoil spring to reduce recoil.

What's there to improve? I can't imagine how they would do it. Except maybe use a steel recoil spring guide instead of the cheapo plastic one. That's about it.

Correct. They're working in order. From top to bottom. The Full Size (17, 22) have been released in January. The midsize (19, 23) will be released in March. The .45's (21, 30, but not 36) will be out in May. 10mm (20) will be out sometime this summer.

This is what I know. Given this. I would say. You have to the end of the year. Or possibly. Sometime next spring (2011), before the subcompacts (26, 27) reach the Gen 4 makeover. Plenty of time, to pick up the Gen 3. And I may say. I have a feeling. That would be a good plan. My subcompact, is my favorite Glock. It is to die for. (Pardon the pun). Don't wait a year, to have the best 9mm or .40 subcompact on the market. Go for it now. You may not be able to find them later.

If anything, that's what I"m most interested in after seeing some of the new gen Glock videos from Shot Show. Looks like the new recoil systems reduces and already mild recoiling gun.

I love mine (3rd gen) and it is perfect. Thats a lot coming from a guy with a really big hand shooting a sub. My other favorite is the boat anchor known as a 92AF. Doubles as a battering ram if needed. :D

The only thing I would do is add removable finger grooves, and replacable backstraps that eliminate the glock hump if so desired.

I'd have to agree on getting one now. I have a Gen 2.5 G26 and I love that thing to death.

+1 This is my understanding talking to the Glock shops. You may expect the 26/27 late this year or early next.

The first generation sub-compacts had finger grooves, but the finger grooves were smooth. Later ones have the checkering in the grooves that's standard for Gen3 Glocks.
