Just picked up my LEO trade-in G38.
In the box with all the paperwork, brush, etc.
Like new condition. Maybe 1 mag of ammo through.
One of the mags looks unused.
What's really interesting is the little baggie with two keys.
Yes, it has the internal "safety lock".
Must have been an agency requirement.
Interesting that I'd never seen one for real.
Don't see that it could cause any problem, so it will remain unused.
Off to the club tomorrow.

I have a lot of GAP brass + dies from a job I did a few years back.
G38 is a for now replacement for my G30, the slide from which was lost by USPS enroute to Smyrna for new night sights.

I have had a G37 since they were introduced. It has 40k+ through it. I just had a tune-up at Glock when I had a chipped firing pin - they replaced everything but the barrel, slide, and frame.

It has a Ghost minus connector back in it and a basic 25 cent trigger job. It is not as smooth as it was before but I still like it enough it is my daily carry.

G37 used to be my EDC too. Should get that back out.

“Internal safety lock?” Got any pictures? Or, are you talking about the little padlock with the cable?

Now that I see it, I know what you’re talking about. It’s been so long ago that I saw an ad about it, I’d forgotten about it. I’ve never seen one in person either.

Why has nobody asked the obvious question yet. Where did you find an Leo trade in G38? Inquiring minds want to know.

Kiesler Police Supply, IIRC. They only sell to LEO and military.
