Actually looking at the images included I believe someone purposefully removed the finish on the slide.
That is not holster wear for sure. Way too much wear all over.
It’s almost as if something sanded off the finish.
Note the top of chamber and right side of chamber.
Two areas that would be easy to contact if using something to remove finish.
I couldn’t tell what happened to both those areas until I noticed an almost uniform appearance to the slide over all.
The worn finish suggests use.
The frame doesn’t show as much as the slide does.
Looking up into the mag well would tell you a great deal more.

Anyone else have some thoughts?

They are sometimes mixed in with other auctions. Here's an early mag mixed in with a gen1 17 auction. But you'd have to pony up the $2,195 for the mag and what looks to be an almost complete gen1 package.

GH the slide finish has been sanded or scrubbed with something.
So it comes just the handgun only. No mags.
You’ll spend thousands correcting it and still have a AE with the slide finish removed.
I really believe this handgun will not appreciate like a correct later A series with everything.
I’m not surprised there currently does not appear to be much action on it.
If we don’t see some of the usual serious Glock collectors bidding quite possibly they also recognize the challenges with this going forward.

I saw none of the what I would call the usual suspects in bidding on collectable Glocks.

The seller did well. $3000.00 is good money.

I considered making a run on it, how often does a AE come up? It wasn't the cost of making it correct which killed it for me, it is just the sheer unobtanium of the parts required.

They always say a good deal is where the buyer and seller both think they got the best of the deal. Would say that applies here as probably both are happy with the outcome on this one

I remember from last year the guy from Hong Kong with the box, and proper manual for that gun.
I’m not sure if mags were included.
Looking back on it maybe $1500.00 was a good buy.
But that slide finish......

That AE that CK bought set a high bar.
