    I went to the LGS where the owner had a trade-in G30 - Gen3. I have a G21 and G30S and I have wanted a G30 for a while. Actually I wanted the G30 when I got the G30S. I was glad I got the G30S. Now I have the G30 also. I'll shoot it in a couple of days.
The SN has US added to the end, but only on the frame. The SN on the barrel shroud and the side of the slide are the same, but don't have US on the end. Anyone know what this means?

Can't tell you why the US on the end of the S/N, but congrats on the 30. I have the 30SF and like it a lot. Had the 30S but sold it because I preferred the 30SF.

All the older Glocks that went through Glock Smyrna had US on the end of the serial number on the frame plate. My 1997 G27 Gen 2.5 has "US", but my 2005 G17 Gen 3 does not. My 2005 was made just a few months after Glock went with the "picture frame window" serial number, so I don't know if that was the cut off for the "US" S/N.

OB, just curious why you wanted the heavier slide on the SF vs the 36 slide on the 30s

IIRC the US suffix was for PD guns as I have a Gen2 G-22 AZR***US that was sent to Columbia SC PD (gun is 1994 mfg) and I have two Gen2 23s (5/95 and 4/97 mfg) that do not have the US suffix.

No. The US was just on older guns. I have a white label gen2 19 with US and it was not a PD gun.

Glock just dropped the US suffix.

Some Austrian guns that went back to Smyrna for warranty work in the old days came back after a rebuild with the "US" stamp.

All my older glocks had the us on the serial number on the receiver. The ones bought consumer and the same on my guns bought for police service.

I've had my Glock 30 for years now. One of my favorite pistols to shoot. It is accurate when I do my part. Enjoy and be safe.

This wasn't a PD gun either. There's no box or other stuff, just the pistol and 2 magazines. I don't know what color label may have been on it originally.

"Just"??? It isn't on any new Glock that I've owned or seen in the past decade. :)

FWIW, on Glocks that have it, that "US" is part of the legally-required serial. If you must list the serial on some document (like a CCW application), the "US" must be included as part of the serial.
