Be careful what you wish for. I found out Kim Kardashian is closely related and had to quit nailing her

Yeah, it's pretty cool.. I found a scanned copy of a passport my great great grandfather filled out in 1910, and my great grandfather's scanned WWI registration papers.

Is it only for searching the US? Or can it help if your ancestry is all foreign?

My wife loves it. She has her family back to about 1800 on both sides.

I've never understood the fascination with this. If you go back just 7 generations you have 128 grandmothers and grandfathers, only one of which had your surname. Why is there no interest in the other 127? You are just as closely related to those other folks as to the one that bears your name.

I have a sinking feeling that this may be a stupid question, but I gotta ask it anyway.

this is another site that's good for helping trace ancestry.... particularly if you want to find out when family members first arrived in the US via Ellis Island.... it helped me to find when my family first hit the states.... apparently my last name used to spelled with a Z in it....

also found out my heritage is mostly Austrian.... i guess that would explain my love for Glocks....
