    Bro's

Question, Granted you have a licensed F/A i.e M16, Glock - Is there a limit on how much ammunition you can store at your residence like if you have a thousand rounds of 9mm and a thousand rounds of 5.56? What are the rules regulating the quantity of ammunition one can posses.

    Cheers,

I'm not sure with the legalities. I just know people who store lots of ammo at home and I mean LOTS. The Filipinos are simply good at it.

on that book, it states that per licensed firearm, one is only allowed to own 50 rounds of ammunition. on your permit to carry, you are also only allowed to bring 50 rounds of ammo.

well, in that same book, it is stated that the caliber you can legally own is also proportional to the size of land that you own. wala yung exemption doon for gun club members.

i wanted to rewrite that entire book and talked to my uncle who is working in congress,he said, nakukuha niyo naman gusto niyo sa gun show diba, oh bayaan mo na muna at mas marami pang pressing matters that needs to be legislated. oo nga naman, pero all i was saying was to update the firearms laws.

Your PTTs can allow you to transport as much as 500 rounds per gun. ;)

Let's not try to fix what ain't broke. Tama uncle mo bro. Rewriting gun laws may be opening a can of worms. It can go horribly wrong for us.

Let's enjoy the vast grey areas of our chosen hobby!

    :)
The problem with "enjoying the vast grey areas" is twofold:

    1. It ignores the steady rate at which laws ARE passed,
without our input and therefore to our accumulative
disadvantage and restriction. We are thus periodically
rendered in possession of illegal articles or quantities
    thereof.

    2. It breeds deliberate, head-in-the-sand ignorance of existing law.
A lazy, willful 'condition white' to the legal (and therefore
social) consequences of owning firearms is a poor base on which
to build one's responsible ownership of firearms.

Ammunition quantites permitted for firearm owners is
a matter already prescribed by law, and has been
since E.0. 164 of 1999. 5,000 rounds of ammo is the limit,
although it can be a debate whether this is the total
ordnance per firearm owner, or per firearm.

I think that there being no clarity in the law, the more restrictive interpretation will win, if placed before the courts.

Your PTT specifies the total you you can haul.
E.O. 164 specifies the total you can own, inclusive of stuff in transit or storage.

    Cheers,

Does anybody check? Nah. Store millions of rounds if you want, but you lose on interest/stock market profits you could be earning if you invested the money locked in your ammo in investments.

Of course, haven't checked if the price of ammo increases a lot from year to year. If so, it could be a legitimate investment, like buying and keeping cases of canned tuna fish.

If you are expecting a war, 5000 is not enough...If you are expecting "house climbers" 50 is more than enough...IMO
