I was going to do metal ammo cans, but for the price of all the totes, I would only get a few cans and I would need a lot. I think the totes are about three or four cans, per tote. It may be a move I make, when money comes back my way. Care to share pics?
I was organizing my ammo over the weekend and realized I have 30 ammo cans. They don't hold enough unless the ammo is loose packed which I don't like to do most of the time. Overflow is in a large plastic storage container. Ammo cans are great but for the guy who is trying to plan ahead they take up too much space and scream 'red flag' to some potential guests. I need a better system.
^ think structure I like ammo cans because in the event of a fire I can chuck them out the backdoor, after I get the guns out that is. Not so much about SHTF survival but pin head politicians survival, a rolling inventory of 1-2k per caliber is what I try to maintain, at about 70-30% FMJ-JHP Sent from my iPhone using Glock Talk
In 2016 my wife and I started remodeling the house, one room at a time. Went in the 4th bedroom that we ha been using for storage, and found a very heavy box my wife could not move. Opened it up and found 14, 30rd, fully loaded, German AK mags. I forgot I had them!!
LOL. I have a two car garage attached to the house and a detached shop with 2 car garage, an office, and wide open second floor. Neighbors call it Garagemahal. I can't build any more so I guess I'll have to move further out and buy a house with larger shop or warehouse.
Excel spreadsheet on my phone so I can refer to it when ammo shopping. Keep it in GI ammo cans with moisture absorbent packs by caliber in the basement where the temp is stable low 70s
