I miss the days of being able to go to Walmart and seeing ammo on the shelves. When will the madness end!?

The madness will end when I stop hoarding ammo :tongueout:
I am a proud ammo hoarder. In addition, I operate two Dillons which causes also primer shortage
Trust me, it is fun to possess and accumulate ammo. :wavey:

Plenty at all four Walmarts here. Picked up two more boxes of CCI tonight.

They must have missed the memo.

I got another G17 and wanted to go to the range tomorrow. I can not find ANY ammo, and I refuse to take it up the *** with no lube and pay the gun shop ammo charges. My plan to go to the range is ruined, and I am very pissed off about it. Sounds like I have no choice but to order it online. The Walmart manager said the ammo doesn't last more than an hour or 2 on the shelves. I am not going to camp outside the store like some tinfoil hat wearing maniac. Sucks!

I've been able to find .40 S&W easily around here at both Wal-Mart and Dicks. I've only seen 9mm once recently at Wal-Mart and last I was at Dicks they had one brand as opposed to the several different varieties they had in .40. As the only gun I have is a G22 I have been able to find ammo fairly easily, but I know that's not the case everywhere. Goodluck!

The manager I spoke to at Walmart claimed that the 9mm will be banned soon due to being responsible for so many people getting killed, and the police want it stopped. Some bs like that, I tried not to laugh in her face. It seems to me that Walmart should do whatever it takes to order it. The demand is 100x the supply! ****ers!!

I have seen a lot of ammo at Walmarts but never any 9mm. Usually .380, .40, and .45.

Cabelas has a lot of 9mm everytime I go in.

I started reloading myself and love it. I never dreamed it would be as much fun as it is. I am having as much fun with it as I am going to the range to shoot my ammo.

I miss the good old days when you get a free box of ammo with the gun you purchase.

Is it pretty much worthless to even look for 9mm at Walmart?

Well, the optimist in me says that the shortage is due to the manufacturers producing ammo for the military, for the war on terrorism, so, the civilian market has to be put on the back burner.

I truly want to believe this.

However, the pessimist in me says that since November '08, more and more people are buying and are preparing for 'the next ban'.

I truly hope that I am wrong about 'the next ban'.

I had to run into wal-mart last night and swung through sporting goods to see what was on the shelf. There was one box of wwb .357 sig so I bought it and one box of .45acp remington umc, bought it too. They had one box of .380 but since I do not have a .380 it got to stay. The Academy usually has plenty of 9mm and .40 but they are always out of .45 when I check.

Obama and Bush both destroyed/are destroying the country, but at least when Bush was in office the ammo was abundant. This is some bull****, I am really pissed off. It's not worth my anger though, since nothing will come of it. So maybe I should spend 500 or 1000 bucks and stockpile some ammo now while I can. Time for a change...

Both of our walmarts have a decent selection, sportsman's has a decent selection and the two main gunshops are chock full o' ammo at pretty decent prices.

I am 27 years old and have probably spent 500 bucks at the Wall in my life, and 475 of it has been ammo. Their prices are dirt cheap, and they are right near where I live so it's convenient. Having to miss a trip to the range tomorrow because Cletus the slack jawed yokel went to my stores and bought their entire supply has me fit to be tied!!!! :steamed:

I haven't been able to get 9mm anywhere for my new G26, ranges sold out, Walmart, Dicks, etc. .40 is not as much of a problem you just have to know which stores to look at. Now I wish I had a G27 instead.
