American Classic 1911s are made by Metro Arms. They are the same company who makes the Firestorm 1911. These are good quality 1911s that are available at a bargain basement price. With RIA, American Classic, Metro Arms, Iver Johnson, Citadel, or any of the other Phillipine-made 1911s, you cannot go wrong. Personally, I own five RIA 1911s, one Metro Arms 1911, one Cimarron Arms 1911, one American Tactical 1911, three Charles Daly 1911s, one High Standard Compact 1911, two Iver Johnson 1911s, and a STI SPARTAN.

While they may be a decent gun, the name "American Classic" just ticks me off!

Not trying to start anything but why?
1911 is an American classic. At least that is how I see the reason behind the name. Sure the company is not American the 1911 design is.

I have the full size model and love it.

Firestorm and American Classic and the same thing.

I bought my American Classic about 2 weeks ago. It is the "standard gov't" model with fixed sights. I love it. My only gripe is that it shoots low thus I am looking for a taller rear sight or will file down the front sight.
