Nope. I've got a Yugo. I love the gun. Not sure why American firm would want to make or why there would be a stronger market for an American made version.

    Not really.

    Some guns should be foreign.

well i think it would be cool with a nice oil finished walnut stock and a chinese style spike bayonet. and it would be brand new. but im sure it would cost alot if built here.

You're crazy:supergrin: I like my mix of SKS's, Albanian, Romanian, Russian, Chinese, Yugoslavian, stick American in there and it doesn't sound right.

That's very profound, in an esoteric sort of way. I've never really thought about it, but that just seems so, right.

    I agree, Sig.

Obviously, I'm a handgun guy and love foreign handguns.

Personally, I think the best handguns to come out of the USA are 1911s and revolvers. However, there so many great handguns from around the world, especially Europe.

No, because the price would at least double. Factors influencing that are new production and american labor.

The closest thing may be a mini-30 which is a good gun and in its basic offering is a lttle more than twice the cost.

Also in a war time offering the Garand is a good american made semi auto in .30 caliber.

The reality of this is somewhat painful and I dont even think this is debateable. The only 2 I can think of that I like from us are the M&P and the Ruger P series. Everything else seems to come from Europe.

You don't like 1911s or revolvers?

I think a US-made SKS will be far more expensive to purchase than what's available today... wouldn't be worth it. Go for an original Tula-Russian made SKS, you'll be happy.

You'd end up paying substantially MORE for something that's no better whatsoever in terms of functionality. I'm sure if a co. WERE to make them domestically, they'd have to add a bunch of gay tactical rails to the extent that you couldnt see the actual rifle anyway!

Not to mention sticking a thirty round mag, red dot sight and a collapsible stock on it.
