Hello,

I am looking for an answer to this thread. Are they really messed up? Some say the new dust cover plate is the issue. Also did they design a fully supported barrel? I want to buy one soon but am hesitant now. Help me out guys

thanks

Thanks everyone I appreciate it. The reason I worry is it will be my primary duty weapon in other words my life saver.

Thanks again

Shoot it with your duty ammo and if you use a flashlight attached check it with that... Indiana State police ended up swapping out their new g-22's for 17's after a heavy failure rate. Duty ammo was Speer Gold dot... Don't know about a chamber redesign, but the emmbedded serial number plate is the likely culprate with the Indiana State police guns... If you want to know more then come over to stoppingpower.net and look under the glock section... The thread their offers details with some of the people involved and they can shed more light on the issue... My personel G-23 is fine, but it does not have the new embedded plate.

I have a new G22 in OD. I normally shoot a G17 or a G34 in IDPA SSP/ESP, but got tired of having to switch my reloader back and forth from 9mm to .40 (I shoot a G24 in USPSA) and vice versa.

I haven't put a lot of ammo through this pistol as yet, probably about 500 rounds, all my own handloads. So far it has functioned flawlessly, and it is rapidly becoming one of my favorite carry pistols.

I just took the pistol apart and looked at the feed ramp and chamber. It does seem to have a well supported chamber. I haven't compared its barrel with my 2nd Gen. 23 or my G24, but will do that later and post what I see.

Looking at 16 new Glocks here, I noticed the frame rails were not straight; they were slightly bowed. The lights (Glock, Insight, Surefire) had to be pounded on and pried off. That was w G17/19 and 22/23. Somebody in QC is napping. :alien:

The Baltimore Police Department is in the process of replacing all their Glock 22's with brand new ones from Glock. It seems there were some spring problems and scuttle butt is that Glock outsourced some of their parts and they were not always up to standard. One guy's firing pin spring suppossedly rusted away, however the gun still worked. The EKE to EKG series were supposed ly the ones at fault with us (I had a EKG series) New pistol is up to 1000 rounds and no problems so far.

When is all the Glock 22 hysteria going to stop? Sheesh.
I suspect it will someday. But it won't be until Glock finally admits it and does a recall on the defective series. There's no doubt there's a problem with some of the G22s made. Far too many reports from too many agencies.

Glock does not call anything back, usually they wait for you to call them. Even if it's a problem they are aware of. ;)

Several years ago when Glock messed up the frame rails, even after several PDs notified them, even after the problem hit the net, they didn't recall anything. Left plenty of suspect/defective guns out there in holsters to be used and on shelves to be sold. If you wanted one of the replacement frames they had ready to go, you had to call them.

The local sheriff had 4 of 200 new Glocks break the first few rounds put through them. Glock said, yeah, we know about that, it's rare (4 of 200?), don't worry about it. They said keep using them, let us know if anymore break, we will replace those 4. The sheriff told his guys and gals to stop using all the new guns, and told Glock they would replace all of the new guns. Glock did, after the local story leaked to the press/net. Everybody else still had to know to call Glock if they wanted replacements.

Worked well enough before, should work well enough again. :alien:

Pretty much the same they did with us. They danced the song and dance and blamed our problems on everything but the G22. Finally when it looked like G22s weren't going to be carried much longer did Glock finally agree to replace all of our 2100 G22s. Same with IN SP and several other agencies that I'm aware of. Don't have a clue how many other agencies have gone thru the same thing but I'm sure the ones I know about can't be all of them. They all have to listen to Glock's song and dance about there's nothing wrong until it looks like they're going to lose the market then suddenly they'll admit there's a problem and agree to fix and replace.

I musta ruffled some feathers over there too, cuzz I can't post anymore either. Questions to the administrators go unanswered.

Should come to our ranges; I've seen the remains of several Glocks. And other guns.

Was standing next to a new Ruger GP100 that blew the cylinder w a round of Federal factory ammo. Still trust mine.

Stuff happens. To everybody sooner or later.

No need to get carried away in either direction: fear and loathing or delusional denial. :alien:

There was some kind of software glitch a several months ago. It showed me logged in. When trying to post it told me to log in again and when trying to log in I got the response back that I already was logged in but still wouldn't take the post. Matt had to do something on their end to get it fixed. Send an email directly to Matt.
