    Hello everyone,

This is the only forum I could imagine as being appropriate for this question, so hopefully one of you more knowledgeable folks can help me:

Albro Guns (S of Emerson + Thompson) seems to have been closed since last week or so; it doesn't look like they've closed down, but I've heard nothing about what's happened.

Anyone have any news on these fine dealers?

    Thanks!

What time are you going by? The close rather early during the week.

Yesterday at work, someone stated they have gone out of business. I know I was there about 10 days ago at 530 pm. They should have been open, but they were not. Still had stock in the racks. It would not suprise me, they are a shadow of what they once were.

I heard that they were very near folding. Don't know if there is any truth to it. It's a shame if it's true, I always felt like they an Plainfield were the two fairest shops in town.

Same here... very sad news to me.

I stopped in there for some cleaning stuff probably a month ago, and the shelves were BARE. I even commented to the guy they had nothing out(I was wanting to look at a 21SF). I bought several guns from Alboros.

Looks like I'll just be making the long drive to Plainfield now..

Have you tried Bradis in Camby? They are very nice to deal with and may be closer. I haven't been to Plainfield yet, but I do here it is a good place to go.

I stopped in numerous times this year. Bare.

They were so much better at their old location in front of (now) wal-mart.

Indeed... The shop turned into a ghost town when they moved. Less display space, less inventory, less everything. Plainfield actually isn't to far from my place of employment, but its a drive from my house. Bradis is about the same distance I imagine(maybe a tad further)...

I'm on the North side, but I'll drive past Pops to get to Albros. I bought my AR from them and was planning to do more purchases from them. Plainfield is a bit far for me. I hope they're still in business.

Bradis just seems dark and hard to see in. Maybe I am just old. Elmore's has selection and will discount for cash. Ludco has a lot of inventory, but, is not cheap. And there is always Midwest. That's kind of a drive. Don't forget Kiesler's

Thats a shame if they closed they are just down the street from my house and have bought several guns from them. I will say the new owner was very helpful and nice but they just weren't setup as well espeacially in there new location.

I've spent too much at too many places  MidWest - hit and Miss on prices, Bradis, down hill from what it used to be, Kiesler's, not the same since Doug is out of the picture, I've bought from Albros and Elmore's (years ago), one shop had an attitude, always seem to buy from Bob Cheek, love those Hawaiian shirts

I've never understood that about Bradis, its like you really do need a light to browse around.

I may try to hit Alboro's today. I've only dealt with 1 employee there who wasn't high on my list of people I'd like to deal with again, but everyone else has been very nice.

Last I had heard was he was going to maintain his SOT and FFL long enough to cover all the outstanding deals but I would still be sure to give him a call and leave a message anyway.

Was looking forward to doing business with them again, nice people.
Hope they have better success in the future, firearms or otherwise!
